So... I hear everybody moved over here while I was away at Dragon*Con. o_O I posted an entry about it on LJ, but I'm still not really sure I understand what's going on. (This could also be from the 200+ entries that I missed over the course of my weekend, but that's another story. ;) )

If somebody could clarify, that would be awesome.

At any rate, I don't want to lose any contact with all of the people that I know and love from over there, so I'll probably be doing the crossposting thing from now on. Most likely, when I find out why I should be as righteously outraged as everyone else is, I'll probably make the switch as well. I don't want to lose touch with anybody. ♥ I love you guys too much.

So... eventually, once I catch up with everything and get re-situated, I will be posting about the epic epicness that was my Dragon*Con weekend. Put it this way, combined with the people I went with, we have over 700 pictures. :D It was AMAZING.

Just for a happier note, you know?

In a nutshell. LJ has partnered with FB and Twitter, so that you now have the option of linking your accounts so anything you post to LJ will be posted in your FB news feed. This includes comments to F-locked entries on OTHER PEOPLE'S LJs.

This is so, so totally not cool. People can be accidentally (or accidentally on purposely) outed.

Well apparently a company in Russia is buying up shares in Twitter, Facebook, Livejournal and a bunch of other social media sites.

Because of the merger, you are now allowed to post any entry or comment to Facebook... even comments you leave on other people's (locked) journal entries.

So if A happened to quote pieces of B's entry in A's comment, then A could potentially expose B's private info to Facebook.

Here's the original explanation of the functionality:

Also, I believe that anyone with a Facebook ID is now considered a registered LJ user through Open ID. I foresee potential security problems there too.
