But I come bearing good news!
It's been a while, I know. :( The last few months have been pretty whirlwind for me, so I just sort of... fell to the wayside.
But this past week was pretty epic, if I do say so myself. Jimmie graduated from Basic training and headed out to Arizona for his AIT. So incredibly proud of him, and I can't wait for us to start the next phase of our lives together.
And, for those of you who didn't see it on Facebook, we got engaged! :D He proposed while I was visiting him in South Carolina, where he was stationed for Basic.
While it was an exhausting week, it was also amazing. While his training in AIT is classified, at least I'll be able to talk to him on the phone and such. In Basic all we could was write letters, which seems romantic, but is kind of a pain in the ass when there is such an incredible delay. :/
Anyway, I thought I would share some pix with you guys!

They did a pretty cool demonstration for us on Family Day, complete with explosions and examples of tactical maneuvers they'd learned while in Basic. It's not a great pic, but that's Jimmie's platoon coming out of the smoke.

My handsome soldier! I was shocked by how much weight he'd lost, but damn! ♥

Jimmie and I at his graduation lunch with my mom and his family. Doesn't he look handsome in his dress blues?

And this is my engagement ring! Isn't it gorgeous? :D *squees a little*
So, for the next six months, I get to start planning a wedding. OMG I can't believe it! But, it should be fun and exciting, and I'll probably spam you all with details. ♥
So... what else is new? :)

Date: 2013-03-29 09:27 pm (UTC)Thank you so much, hon. I'm still all a-twitter.
It shocked me how much weight he'd lost. I shouldn't have been surprised, but still. DAMN. I'm so incredibly proud of him, though.
It was a hell of a birthday present, huh? He's going to have to work pretty hard next year to top that. ;)
♥ Tons of hugs to you, twin!
